I chose this 2011 course from the Region 2 Arabian Championships for the first "Course of the Month". It left an impression on me because it was such a forward moving course with a lot of variation. It started with a couple of jumps followed by a quick turn. This course was really like driving a stick shift on a windy road. A horse has to change gears a lot! The two gates were an interesting twist also.

A cattle guard is a type of jump that is a spread type jump in trail classes. It is usually 3 or 4 parallel jump poles. It simulates a cattle guard one might see on a ranch.
